About Us
Re:Center offers hope for a better life to the 1,354 people who are homeless on any given night in Louisville and Southern Indiana.
Founded in 1881, Re:Center reconciles homeless and hurting people to God, family, and community by the power of Christ in partnership with the local church. Our programs span a continuum of care and provide holistic, high-impact answers to the problem of homelessness in our communities.
This work is accomplished through three key programs:
Daytime Drop-In Shelter: The Drop-In Program provides hundreds of women and young children with a safe, clean, and welcoming space to be during the day. Guests receive intentional, holistic care and can use the restroom, take showers, do their laundry, access a mailbox, store their personal belongings, and occasionally eat snacks or a meal.
Overnight Stability Shelter: The LifeChange Shelter provides up to 40 men a clean, warm bed for up to 45-days with access to showers/bathrooms, laundry, storage for personal belongings, and optional devotionals and case management. The hope is that each guest will want to join our longer-term LifeChange program.
Residential LifeChange Program: The LifeChange Program is a two-phase, 18-month residential program serving up to 30 men at a time. All of our residents' tangible needs - including a safe home and nutritious meals - are provided for so they may fully engage in counseling, life skills classes, health and wellness education, and job training.
